  6.                                                                       Marathon 2 DEMO is OFFICIALLY OUT! If you don't already
  7.                                                      have it, download it from either ftp.bungie.com or 
  8.                                                      ftp.amug.org in /pub/contrib/marathon/.
  9.  
  10.                                                      There are 3 demo files, one with 16-bit graphics, one with 
  11.                                                       8-bit graphics and music (No BGM) and one with 8-bit 
  12.                                                       graphics and no music. 
  13.  
  14.                                                       Some Notes:
  15.  
  16.                                                       - Saved game cheaters for M2 preview and M1 don't work.
  17.                                                       - There is no background music.
  18.                                                       - Modem play (except ARA) is NOT supported.
  19.                                                       - Demo allows unlimited netplay time, but only 2 players.
  20.                                                       - No compatibility with M1 maps, shapes, sounds, or models
  21.                                                       - You can go UNDER lava and Water!

  42. I don't know why Bungie didn't tell anyone, but Masem from #marathon found
  43. out how to swim. Press your run key on and off rapidly and use your movement keys.

  56. I found a secret ammo stash in a secret room on level 2.  Spoilers 
  57. below... 
  58.  
  59. Go to the second circuit panel(that you need to break) on level 2 with 
  60. 100% health(full red bar... you don't need to cheat to do this).  Shoot a 
  61. grenade at the panel or punch it.  The lava will start to rise.  Then 
  62. turn -160 degrees and walk forward.  You'll fall off the ledge and into a 
  63. secret doorway that just opened.  Then RUN(because your being fried by 
  64. lava right now) over to the switch on the other side of the room and flip 
  65. it.  If you were quick enough, the platform will take you out of the lava 
  66. just before your health runs out.  You will now see a Pfhor Fighter 
  67. standing with his back to you.  Drop a grenade under his butt and collect 
  68. the piles of WSTE-M-COMBAT-SHOTGUN shells!  What a deal!  =)

  75. Found another cool secret that wasn't in the preview.  Spoiler for a 
  76. secret on level 3 below.

  78. Level 3, go into the room with the first terminal, 1x shields, and 
  79. pattern buffer.  There are 3 secret elevators in the southwest corner of 
  80. the room.  2 lead to the same place.

  100. I've found a little bug that has to do with the ammo. Since the regular
  101. levels can also be played as net levels, the ammo regenerates. Go to the
  102. shotgun place on level 1. Get all 10 round of ammo. Use some, then run
  103. around and watch the ammo reappear... Kinda nice. You can load up on
  104. shotgun (and some other ammo) just before leaving the level.

  112. Rumor has it that the Full version of Marathon 2 will be released November 15th, however this has NOT been confirmed with Bungie.
